Visit of Archbishop Pinder

Archbishop Patrick Pinder, archbishop of the Bahamas, visited Geraldton in July to view the works of Monsignor John Hawes. After Hawes left Geraldton he worked and lived in the Bahamas designing many buildings, one of the most famous being his own hermitage on Cat Island. He diew in Florida in 1956.
A sundowner was held to welcome Bishop Pinder to Geraldton. During the evening fFr Robert Cross the guests some of the plans and artefacts of Hawes that will be displayed in the proposed Monsignor Hawes Heritage Centre.
